Undertaking an internship prior to your undergraduate degree
Why undertake an internship before starting your undergraduate degree?
Doing an internship can help you gain valuable work experience, acquire new skills and develop your cv. It can also be fun and provide you with a unique insight into a future profession that you are considering pursuing. It demonstrates your skills and focus and can help your undergraduate degree application.
Applying to university can be highly competitive, necessitating you to ensure your personal statement / letter of motivation stands out from the crowd. One of the ways you can do this is by undertaking an internship.
How to secure a great internship
Uni Direct will work with you to help arrange an internship in an area you want to learn more about. Internships can be arranged across different sectors, including corporate placements for prospective business students, legal sector placements for students applying to study law, and health sector placements for prospective medical students. We can help arrange placements from one week to several months, prior to commencing your undergraduate degree.
As well as securing the right internship for you, we will help you with the application process, which is likely to include developing your existing cv to support your internship application.
Homestay accommodation options can be arranged as part of your work experience placement or internship. Homestays provide the opportunity to improve your English language skills. Host families from all our homestay options have all been disclosure and barring service (DBS) checked and students can review options to ensure they are happy with their homestay.
